You can read/hear/watch my biggest takeaways from Ms. Jonat's book on the blog here.
Both of these books have made me realize that I want to solely focus on the podcast. It's what fulfills me. It's not a third party platform which I have to keep feeding.
With eBay I didn't like the hoarding aspect. I'd always have a pile of stuff to list, and in my small studio apartment, that pile looked disgusting to me.
Amazon FBA was great as it eliminated any piles, as I would just ship everything to one of their warehouses, but I was spending more money than I was making on a regular basis.
The podcast sparks my creativity and it's my own thing. It does not require a large money commitment. This July marks one year since I began podcasting. I initially started it to build a following and make this another revenue source. Especially at a time when I was reselling full time and financially struggling.
The podcast has not generated any money yet but it's given me an opportunity to speak with some of you and that alone has been incredible. You never think people will reply to something you put out into the world. The podcast has also allowed me to speak with people who've inspired me and whom I enjoy talking to.
My hopes are to serve you, pass on information, entertain, and teach whatever I know that can help you.
This podcast as of this writing is almost up to 600 downloads..incredible! Thank you!
Gary Keller & Jay Papasan say in the very beginning of their book(mentioned above), 'chasing two rabbits you catch none'. I've made money with eBay and Amazon FBA and have enjoyed my time on both platforms. Revisiting them down the road is not out of the realm of possibility. With your help, I'm going to build this podcast and make this my 'one thing'.
